Mission/Vision

Mission

The Mission of the National Diversity Council’s Mentoring Website is twofold;

1) To Inform and Educate
2) To Provide Services to Members

This Knowledge Portal has been designed as an extension of the Mission of the National Diversity Council. That Mission is to Strive to establish a corporate environment that utilizes the full potential of each employee. As a part of that Mission, we know that mentoring is a key and critical component.

Our goals for this Knowledge Portal are ambitious and comprehensive. We want this to be a gateway of information and services that will enhance the learning experience for all parties involved in a mentoring partnership. We can achieve these goals by

  • Adding value to the mentoring experience for mentees (proteges), mentors and mentoring program coordinators.
  • Enhancing the success and improving the positive outcomes of mentoring programs
  • Establishing this learning process as a mainstay for achieving inclusion in the workplace
  • Providing mentoring services to individual members through education

A number of avenues will be used to deploy the information: through publications, webinars, summits, workshops, and links to other sites of interest.

We offer services that range from the capability to establish complete formal programs and self-managed mentoring programs. A comprehensive set of materials that can be customized for each client are also available.  We can asses, measure and re-tool existing organizational programs to increase rates of success for mentoring partnerships. We have the capability to train mentoring partnerships and program coordination teams using tested and true processes and materials.

The training publications, techniques and processes offered through this site, are applicable to Fortune 500 companies, public service agencies and professional organizations.

For a comprehensive list of services, go to the Resources section of our site. Check also for additional educational materials – FREE articles and publications for purchase.

Vision

The National Diversity Council seeks to transform our diverse community into a truly inclusive environment where individuals are valued for their talent and able to reach their full potential. The vision of this Knowledge Portal is to bring members together for the purpose of learning Best Practices in mentoring and to make mentoring available to all those who desire it. Many individuals have a desire for mentoring and do not have the means, or information to establish their own partnership. The National Diversity Council Mentoring Program will be that resource to individuals. For member companies who are seeking to establish an organization- wide mentoring program, this Portal will offer guidance that will lead to successful outcomes and avoid the traps and pitfalls that signal failure.

By creating a platform through Mentoring Roundtables, mentoring programs can share Best Practices with other organizations and continue to upgrade and renew their offerings to their employee base.

We wish to provide answers and resolutions to the challenges faced by those mentoring pairs and program coordinators who are involved in cross-cultural mentoring. We want to see successful mentoring as a part of every diversity program. We believe that such success will lead to inclusion and equity of opportunity for the total employee population.
